CND GRAVITY POINT SPEY LINE MANUAL

Thank you for choosing our fine CND Spey line. CND Spey lines are designed by the CND spey casting team, and produced by RIO Products Intl. Inc., using their most advanced processes and technology. This partnership produces state-of-the-art taper designed spey lines with high performance casting ability.

Five unique features of G.P. SpeyLines by CND

1: Gravity Point technology makes distance casting easy.
Long distance casts are a result of computer-aided taper calculations, that place
the most weight effectively in the D-loop.  This Gravity Point is what drives the loop and enables
      the effortless long distance casts.
2: The tip is specially designed to create positive turn over
The tip taper incorporates a level section that promotes exceptional turnover with the GPS belly design.
3: Two different line densities - one for distance and one for up-close
The larger line sizes (10/11 and 11/12) are made with higher density material to reduce the line profile
and allow a more efficient penetration of the air - resulting in longer casts.  The smaller lines (5/6 - 9/10) are
made with a less dense, higher floating material to enhance the surface fishing most common with these
      lines.
4: Belly length matches rod length to maximize the effect of the Gravity Point
The belly length is extended by 5' on each line weight so as to match the rod lengths.
5: All lines feature factory loops to attach interchangeable tips
All GPS lines come with a 20' floating tip.  Also available are a 20' Intermediate tip that is tapered and
density compensated, and a standard 15', with Type 3, 4 and 6 tips for multi depth control.

My sincere thanks to the RIO Products team for their great cooperation and effort in developing the most advanced
range of new generation spey lines.  Great Job!

IMPORTANT: Proper Line Care and Use!

In order to keep CND Spey line in good condition please be sure to observe the following:
1) Always put enough backing line on  small arbor fly reels to avoid coil memory of running line.
2) When using new line, please pull all line out from the reel ( without the leader) on the water to release the twist.
3) When you notice twist in the fly line while fishing, pull all line out on water to release the twist again.
4) Always use proper knots (refer to the Knot tying books) to connect fly line with leader and fly line with backing line.
5) Make sure all connection knots are correctly knotted before initial line use.

Preserving your CND Spey Line Investment:

The following will damage your fly line and decrease its longevity:
1) Do not step on the line. 2) Do not cast without a leader. 3) Do not cast line into  rocks or trees.
4) Do not make a D loop on top of sandy or rocky river banks. 5) Make sure you do not have any sharp edges on your reel.
6) Do not pull too hard when your line is snagged on the bottom or a bank
7) Do not use any solvents, such as gasoline, for cleaning your line, and keep it away from bug repellents and sun screens.
8) Keep lines away from fire or any excessive heat, including direct sunlight inside a car.

Cleaning your CND Spey Line:
CND Spey lines are self lubricating, however cleaning is an important aspect of fly lines longevity and we
recommend cleaning after every use.
Sand, dirt, debris, or salt (saltwater use) remaining on the line will damage it,
reduce it's  natural buoyancy, and may cause damage  to the line guides as well.
When you notice your line is not shooting well, or the tip of a floating line is beginning to sink, it's overdue
for a good cleaning.
Use a few drops of mild soap with water and clean the line well. Once it's cleaned and dried, apply 100% silicon
line cleaner on a cloth and pull the line through the cloth. The coating should be a thin film to prevent
dirt buildup. The silicon grease will help float the line and aid in shooting.
