Simply connect it to your leader and running line and start casting. Designed by Tom Larimer as a solution to fishing surface flies, the Skagit Compact Float will become the surface oriented cousin of the regular Skagit Compact head which is designed to throw sink tips only. This new family of heads will become the solution to people who don’t want a sink tip but still need help casting into the wind. Its thick tipped design and modest head length make it our more aggressive floating two hand head. Most commonly matched up with 20 lb or 30 lb floating Ridge running line. The smoothest casting two hand floating head on the market. Part of the family of shorter heads the Scandi Compact was designed with a longer front taper and modest tip diameter to make casting smoother. It excels at casting in tight conditions and is a full floating head is not designed to throw heavy sink tips. Even though it was designed to fish small to modest sized flies on the Deschutes River in Oregon, the Scandi compact head is a popular for great lakes fish and Atlantic salmon in Europe and Canada. Designed to load the rod quickly and “feel” alive these heads are great for most floating line fishing situations and are good for casters of all skill levels. They are not the best choice for large flies and windy conditions. Most commonly matched up with 20 lb or 30 lb floating Ridge running line. Tactical Steelhead
A modern version of a two-hand Multi-tip line. The Tactical Steelhead was designed with the help of Dec Hogan to be an easier casting shorter adaptation of the full length multi-tip lines of yester year. Unusual because it only comes with a short ridged removable floating tip instead of a set of four tips. Tactical Steelhead allows people to remove the floating tip and connect their favorite sink tip of modest length and weight. If you were going to go to a river with one line this would be your first choice. At 37 to 41 feet this line bridges the gap between the popular shorter two hand heads and the longer Delta family of lines. Designed to cast well with medium and longer rods the Tactical Steelhead is a great line for those who want one line to do it all.
